Agot Isidro Accepts Sereno Role at MMK Episode After Cherie Pie Picache Refuses Offer

Actress Agot Isidro will play the lead role in the life story of former Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno in an episode of MMK (Maalaala Mo Kaya), ABS-CBN’s popular weekly drama anthology. This is after fellow actress Cherry Pie Picache declined the offer despite being offered three times her usual talent fee in the movies.

According to an insider at ABS-CBN who earlier said that a producer of MMK contacted Picache’s manager about the project, Agot Isidro immediately accepted the role without any hesitation. In fact, the 51-year old seasoned singer-actress allegedly said she was willing to sacrifice her time being busy with her villain role in an on-going teleserye.

“Agad daw tinanggap ni Ms. Agot Isidro kahit very busy sya sa Asintado bilang Hillary Del Mundo na kontrabida. Isisisingit daw ito sa oras nya. Ngayon lang daw nagkaroon ng ganitong chance na gaganap siya bilang isang malaking tao sa lipunan. Bukod dyan, napakataas daw ng tingin nya kay dating chief justice Sereno.” The insider said.

Isidro, who was also among the main cast of the action-drama TV series “FPJ's Ang Probinsyano” also at ABS-CBN, is a vocal critic of the Duterte administration. In October 2016, she called President Rodrigo Duterte a psychopath and advised him to see a psychiatrist, for his continued expletive-laced remarks against the United States.

And shortly after news about the ousting of Sereno broke out, Agot rushed to Twitter and criticized the senators who, according to her, already knew that it will happen was very imminent. According to her, it is the job of the senators to handle Sereno’s case, referring to the pending impeachment complaint against the former chief justice.


“Etong mga senador, issue nang issue ng mga statement. Puede ba? You knew this was going to happen. Bakit ngayon lang kayo nagsasalita? The whole CJ issue was supposed to be yours to decide on. Anyare??? Magtrabaho kasi, wag lang papogi.” Agot tweeted. Nevertheless, she did not mention the names of the senators she was referring to.
