"Pinigilan lang namin at sobra ang init. (We stopped him simply because the weather was very hot.) Not good for his health," Presidential Security Group (PSG) commander Brigadier General Lope Dagoy told reporters, debunking reporters saying that there were security threats against President Duterte riding on a jet ski in Benham Rise.
As reported earlier, Sen. Trillanes challenged the president that he is will resign immediately if the latter will ride on a jet ski once he visited the contested Philippine Rise. He said on Tuesday.
This Wednesday, Trillanes mocked President Duterte and called him coward. According to the Opposition senator, the president did not ride a jet ski because he is afraid of his challenge. The anti-Duterte senator said that day.
(In short, he cannot fulfill his promise and he is afraid of my challenge. Imagine, if he rode the jet ski, he will lost a headache in the senate.)” He added.
Meanwhile, among those who rode the jet ski in Benham Rise are Special Assistant to the President Christopher "Bong" Go, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon, presidential son Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, and PBA party-list Representative Jericho Nograles. That day, President Duterte also declared Philippine Rise as a marine protected area.
