“The OVP [Office of the Vice President] categorically deny allegations that VP Leni Robredo copied her recent speech from the movie Independence Day. The message might be the same, but the difference in words is very obvious. The vice president also spoke from her heart, and there was no prepared speech for her.” Hernandez said.
“The vice president believes that the accusation is only a strategy of her critics to divert the public’s attention from the real issue. It is very clear that the present administration is doing everything to silent its critics, and is using the Constitution in the wrong way. Therefore, the vice president needs to fight against the dictatorship.” She added.
Must Read: Bill Pullman Laughs at Robredo for Copying his Speech at Independence Day Movie

As earlier reported, RJ Nieto aka Thinking Pinoy created a meme, placing side by side a portion of VP Robredo’s speech at the “Free the Courts” forum at the University of the Philippines-Diliman last Monday and Bill Pullman’s speech in the movie Independence Day. There, the pro-Duterte blogger highlighted the similarities between the two speeches.
“Whatever the SC decides now will form part of our nation’s laws and will have an impact on all of us moving forward. As your duly-elected vice president, I took an oath to defend the constitution. You can count on me to do everything in my power to right this wrong," Robredo said, referring to the quo warranto case against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
"We will not go quiet into the night. We will always fight for what is right." She added. On the other hand, Bill Pullman said in the ‘Independence Day,’ “We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight!” The Hollywood actor was then playing the role of US President Thomas J. Whitmore, as countries battle against alien invasion.
