Kris Aquino Not to Endorse Bam Aquino, LP Senatorial Candidates in 2019 Elections

Kris Aquino will not endorse her first cousin, Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV as well as the rest of the senatorial candidates under the Liberal Party (LP).in the coming 2019 midterm elections. The Queen of All Media made the announcement on Wednesday, May 29 on social media, following the questions from her fans and supporters.

“To those who are asking if I will endorse Bam Aquino and the rest of LP candidates in 2019, my answer is Big NO. As I've said before, I only supported kasi request sa akin ni Kuya Noy (former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III). But now, kahit mag request siya, ayoko na (If he requests me, I will decline.)” Kris Aquino wrote on Facebook.

“For the past elections, I supported them for free, without asking anything in return. Ang masakit, puro sama pa ng loob binigay nila sa akin. (What hurts me is that all they gave me is resentment.) So now, I've had enough. Tama na, Sobra na!!!” The 47-year old former presidential sister added. She endorsed Bam Aquino in the 2013 elections.

It can be recalled that last April, Kris Aquino criticized Korina Sanchez, her former close friend and wife of former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas. In her lengthy post on social media, she burst into anger over a feature of her ex-husband James Yap and his Italian girlfriend Michela Cazzola at ABS-CBN’s TV show Rated K, hosted by Korina Sanchez.

“I have really had enough. Simple lang – minsan lang akong pinakiusapan ng kapatid ko – never para sa sarili niya pero para sa kandidatong inendorso niya. Dahil mahal ko siya, ginawa ko. Lahat ng batikos ng dahil sa pagtulong na 'yon tinanggap ko...” Kris Aquino wrote at that time, referring to her brother, Noynoy Aquino.

(I have really had enough. It's simple – my brother rarely asks me for anything – never for himself but for the candidate he endorsed. I love him so I did it. I accepted all the criticism for the help I did.)



As of posting, Sen. Bam Aquino has not yet commented on this issue. Besides him, among the possible LP senatorial candidates are Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano, lawyer Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno, LP vice president for external affairs Erin Tañada, former Akbayan representative Barry Gutierrez, and actress Agot Isidro.
